Do I need to be artistic?
No! Pottery painting is suitable for all ages, regardless of the artistic ability. We have supporting materials, such as stencils and stamps and can offer friendly advice if required. Painting pottery is about having fun. All we do is show you how.
How long does it take?
An average visit may take up to 1,5 hours. Young children tend to not take so long – between 30 mins to 1 hour, depending on age.
Why do I have to leave the item with you?
We offer non-toxic, water based paints that are easily washable and won’t ruin your clothes. To turn your creation in to a dinner-ware we glaze it and fire in out kiln. The process of glazing and firing takes a few days, so please allow for at least 7 days for it.
What if I need the pot urgently?
We can offer an urgent firing – min 3 days for additional cost of £5 per item.
Can the items be used in a dishwasher?
Whilst the glazed piece is dishwasher safe, as with everything, if you treasure it we would recommend that you hand wash only to keep the pot looking it’s best. Ceramics are not to be used in the microwave!
Can we paint at home or finish painting at home if we run out of time?
Yes. You can take the unpainted pottery home with you. We can provide brushes and paints for you to take home for a small refundable deposit (£4). Bring your painted items back to us and we will glaze and fire them for you.
